How to Teach 911
At American Emergency Preparedness, we work tirelessly to define and implement true industry best practices. In this four-hour workshop, we will define “teaching” by exposing and defining the core fundamentals of effective instruction. We have found that our industry tends to put much more focus on creating documentation than it does on creating practical techniques to teach the many challenging aspects of emergency management and response. With that in mind, this workshop, supported by forty years of combined teaching experience, will give the attendee real tools to help them thrive in their role as a Communications/Field Training Officer. We have brought the concepts of “process teaching” and daily lesson-plan engineering together with proven industry techniques for a workshop designed to streamline the training process. This is the workshop for every CTO and FTO in the emergency management field.
Topics covered in this workshop include:
·Process Teaching
·Lesson Plan Engineering
·Documentation That Works
·How to Build a Task Sheet
·Daily Observation Reports (DORs)
·Skill Building Through Repetition
·Confidence Building as a Goal
In this workshop, the topics listed above are used to build a profoundly more confident trainer. With this, as well as all of our other workshops, we look to give attendees real tools they can bring back to their centers. The strength of this workshop is that the tools we provide can be integrated into your already defined programs as well; we look forward to being a part of the solution needed in today’s dynamic industry!
In addition to enrolling, options are available for you to host this class for your agency or your region. This workshop can be combined with other workshops to build a multi-day training experience to satisfy all your training needs.
